About Tsakos Group
Tsakos Shipping Trading S.A. (TST) was founded in Piraeus, Greece by
Capt. Panagiotis N. Tsakos in 1970. The Company manages and operates a
diversified fleet of about 60 ships consisting of tanker, container and
dry cargo vessels aggregating approximately 5 million deadweight tons (dwt).
This fleet includes the 27 modern tankers of Tsakos Energy Navigation
Ltd. (TEN). TEN has been listed on the Oslo Bors since 1993, the Bermuda
Stock Exchange since 1993 and on the New York Stock Exchange since March
2002.
The Tsakos Group is a worldwide leader in shipping, energy-related and
other commercial activities.
Goals
The Tsakos Group's cooperation with Box Up began in December of 2001.
With no web presence, The Tsakos Group and Box Up Solutions needed to
provide a site that not only marked The Groups entrance in the world
wide web, but also was represented of the standard of excellence the
company hold within the Shipping and Trade industry.
The site not only had to communicate The Tsakos Group message and
its activities to visitors, but also had to leverage the inherent
efficiencies present in the web and provide applications that would
improve the group's communication activities throughout their chain
worldwide offices, representatives and associates while concurrently
decreasing operational costs throughout the group.
Results
By implementing a site wide fleet management system, The Tsakos Group
can now update all fleet information online and share access to the list
to users through the globe.
The Tsakos Group now enjoys the benefits of a site that aesthetically
represents their corporate strength and market leadership, while
delivering the cost savings benefits and communication tools encompassed
by the site technical features and applications. |
